Close to 6,000 people have gathered near the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv to honor Ukraine’s great poet.

Close to 6,000 people have gathered near the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv to honor Ukraine’s great poet.

The participates are holding BYuT and Ukrainian flags, and posters and greeted BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko with applause and lour cheers.

The Blahovist choir and Kalyna ensemble will be performing songs to words by Taras Shevchenko.
